Sabbath School, 13 November 2010

If you’re like me, you’ve probably never heard of Abiathar before opening this week’s lesson. In a nutshell, Abiathar served as priest during the reign of King David. He is known for his intercessory work on behalf of David and his people as they evacuated Jerusalem in order to avoid bloodshed as Absalom sought to usurp the throne. Not much is written about Abiathar, but we know that towards the end of David’s reign, Abiathar made a decision counter to God’s ideal. This week, we will review Abiathar’s life and how this decision affected his fate—demotion from the priesthood.

We hope to see everyone at Sabbath School this week!
