Bible Study – February 18th – Discipleship

Theme: Practical Christianity
Topic: Discipleship
Place: Melissa’s
Time: 7:30pm

Hello all,

This week we will be looking at what it means to be a disciple of Christ.   “Pickup up your cross and follow me”?  What’s my cross?  Where’s my cross? I have to give up all of my possessions?  Why is my cross smaller/bigger than his/hers?  Does the whole idea seem a little ambiguous?  Good, that’s part of why we’re meeting, right?  If it is clear, also  good, come share some insight.  In addition to bible texts we will also be looking at some sections from Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s book, “The Cost of Discipleship.”

Suggested Readings: Matthew 10:37 – 39, Matthew 16: 24 – 27, Luke 14: 25 – 33 (possibly 34), Matthew 19: 27 – 30, John 21: 15 – 22

Hope to see you there.  Have a blessed rest of the week,

Jonathan
