Bible Study April 29 – David and Goliath

We all know the story.  We’ve heard it since we were kids.  The shepherd boy slays the giant Goliath with just a stone and a sling.  It’s a stunning example of God’s power to help us when the odds seem impossible.

But what about the rest of the story?  David cuts off Goliath’s head, kills a load of Philistines for good measure, and carries Goliath’s head back to Jerusalem, presumably as a trophy.  And this is the “man after God’s own heart?”  What does that say about God’s character?

This Friday night we’ll be meeting at the Gallaghers’, and Dr. Gallagher will be facilitating once again.  I’m sure many of you remember our discussion on Hell back in February; this will be the same format.

We’ll start at 7:30 PM, and please email me at r.e.fuller@gmail.com if you need directions.

Hope to see you all there!
