October 29 – Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze

Last year we went to Lawyers Moonlight Maze in Thurmont, MD and it was a LOT of fun. We are planning on going again this year, October 29. It is a Saturday night. Here’s the website:

The cost of admission to the place is $5 (which includes entrance to the maze) but the cost for the private bonfire is $45. The bonfire was (in my opinion) the best part of the event last year! We got to hang out by the blazing hot fire. Some of you may remember laying flat on the ground to roast your hot dogs because the fire was soooo hot. It was so much fun!! I will be asking everyone who attends to pay $12. This will cover your cost to get in to the maze, as well as pay for the bonfire and our food.

I have already called and reserved a bonfire for us at 6:30pm. We can arrive around then (sunset is at 6:10), roast our hot dogs, drink cider and hot chocolate, and enjoy each other’s company πŸ™‚ Then when we’re finished, we can go through the maze. The maze is pretty challenging, especially in the dark. It is also a place to fall in love, or fall in the mud. Be prepared for anything to happen! After we come out of the maze we can celebrate with some sparkling cider and a toast.

Please invite your friends! I reserved the bonfire for 15 people but it can accommodate a lot more and I can update our reservation. You can come and hang out even if you don’t want to do the maze. Last year the theme was Iron Man and they were showing the movie on a loop. I guess this year they will be showing Transformers 3? You can also shoot a pumpkin from the cannon (cost not included) and buy popcorn and some other treats, so bring extra money if you’d like to do that.

Please leave a comment if you’d like to attend!! Should be an AWESOME time!

I’ll try to make it but it’s a maybe right now. It seems like a short time frame for all those activities, if I do decide to go I might arrive earlier, will keep you posted.

Xiang, it’s not a short time frame unless you’re trying to leave early. Last year we did the same thing at the same time. I think you were there at Cunningham Falls, where we went first? Can’t remember. At any rate, if we get there at 6:30 we’ll spend an hour or so roasting hot dogs and eating. Then the maze will take another hour. Let’s say worst case scenario, 9pm we get out of the maze, then we have until at least 10:30 to make s’mores and have our sparkling cider. The bonfire is ours for the whole night. The maze closes at 10 but all that means is they stop letting people in. The place is open until the last person comes out of the maze, which could be pretty late. I think we will have plenty of time unless you’re trying to leave before 9pm. -Jen

lol, i believe y’all. i think it’ll be great, just don’t want to be a bad sport and fall asleep in the middle of the maze

  7. Sounds awesome! I’m in!
