Filming during Oct. 12 Bible study

Folks, Dan Weber (an elder at Spencerville and Associate Director of Communication at the North American Division) is working on a film project to be shown at NAD’s annual meeting.  The purpose of the film is to examine the question of why young people stay in the church, why they leave the church, and what to do about it.  We’ve agreed to have him come and film some of our study this Friday night (Oct. 12) in order to help with this project.  Here are some quick facts:

1) The final video will be 3 minutes long, and ours won’t be the only young adult group featured.

2) Dan won’t film the entire study–only snippets–and he will only be capturing video, no audio.

3) If you request not to be in the video, Dan won’t put you in it.

4) After the study, Dan may conduct individual interviews–on a voluntary basis–asking questions such as:

  • Why are you involved in the church?
  • What makes you feel involved?
  • If you have friends who have left, why did they leave?
  • What can we do to keep young people in the church?

I think it’s pretty cool that NAD is taking a special interest in our age group, and this seems like a great opportunity for us to make an impact and talk to our leaders about issues that relate to us.

See you guys Friday night!
