Bible study August 9 at Shawn’s – Friendship

Hey, everyone! I hope you’re having a great week. This Friday’s study will be at Shawn’s place. Email me at r.e.fuller[at]gmail[dot]com for the address. Like usual, we’ll do snacks and drinks at 7 PM and start the discussion at 7:30 PM.

Our theme for this week is Practical/Relational Christianity. Sonia will be moderating, and she’s selected the topic of Friendship. She says:

“‘Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art, like the universe itself (for God did not need to create). It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things which give value to survival.’ C.S. Lewis

What is a friend? What is the purpose of friendship? How does one maintain a good friendship? Is there ever a time to end a friendship? Is friendship something we can really have with God? Is friendship something we want to have with God?

I think it’s important to think about these questions and their answers so we can learn how (or remember) to take care of the people we love. :)”

Take a look at these verses in preparation:

John 15: 12-13; 1 John 4:7; Ecclesiastes 4:9-11; Proverbs 17:17; Proverbs 18:24
I hope to see you tomorrow!

Rob
