Announcements/Mark Your Calendars! :)

Hey Everyone!

I hope you had a nice start of the week. There are a few things coming up, and I thought I’d give you a little heads up so you can plan ahead:

1.  Conversation/presentation/discussion by Seth Bardu TODAY, April 15 @ 6:30pm- 8:30 pm. Spencerville Church. The presentation will be about our church family (local church all the way to the GC) and how our tithes & offerings are used according to Biblical principles. Seth Bardu is the Treasurer of the Columbia Union Conference, headquartered in Columbia, MD. Chesapeake Conference is part of the Columbia Union Conference and Spencerville Church (and many other local churches) are part of Chesapeake Conference. Seth will be talking about church structure and the dispersion of funds, so if you’ve ever wondered about things like “Chesapeake Advance” “Thirteenth Sabbath” etc this is a great time to learn. It looks like it may be a small crowd so there will likely be ample opportunity to have your personal questions answered. This topic is geared more towards young adults so we’d like to have a decent turnout, though I (Jen Blondo) understand that we all have busy schedules. Hope to see you there!

2. ConneXion – April 26 @ 6:00 pm. Spencerville Church Sanctuary. The theme is Adventist Mission.

3. Church Potluck – May 3 @ 11:00 am. Fellowship Room (aka YA Sabbath School room). Young Adults are coordinating potluck in May! As per usual, we will need lots of helping hands so come join us if you’re available 🙂  Any help will be deeply appreciated.

4. General Sabbath School Lesson – May 17 @ 9:30 am. Spencerville Church Sanctuary. We will likely not have our young adult Sabbath school on this day, because the room will not be available. Instead, we will join the adult Sabbath schools for a special general session program. There will be a sign on the door as a reminder.

5. Young Adult Planning Meeting & Potluck – May 17 @ 2:00 pm. Location TBA (more info to follow). We would like to put some activities on the calendar and see if there is anything we can improve to make this ministry more beneficial. If there is an activity you would like to do, or an idea you would like to try out, or if you just want to see what’s going on please come and join us. Everyone is welcome and we’re open to suggestions 🙂

Let us know if you have any questions at Have a blessed rest of the week! 🙂
